Event Details
Set in Swinging Sixties London, The Knack is an ironic comedy about the male ‘art of seduction.’
It premiered at Cambridge Arts Theatre and moved to the Royal Court in 1962. Many early reviews of The Knack dismissed it as a feminist or women’s play.
Despite this, the show was a success and, in 1965, was made into an award-winning film starring Michael Crawford and Rita Tushingham. It was directed by A Hard Day’s Night’s Richard Lester.
This is a quirky play, full of physical comedy, quick wit, a meaningful message, and a whole lot of nonsense too.
