Instinct Theatre presents a double bill of Chekhov: The Bear and The Proposal. Light hearted and jovial these two short plays were written by a young Chekhov determined to satirise the Russian emancipation of women. With fights, guns, jokes and drink the two plays blend satire and and amusement beautifully.

Instinct Theatre is a local theatre company set up last year. Their very first performance was at The Cornerhouse Theatre last May where they showed a short run of Jean Paul Sartre’s No Exit. They have since written and produced a dark comedyStench, taken workshops into Surrey schools, and are producing a new political play on the Syrian migrant crisis to be performed early next year.
